How do you use the time of round-the-clock partying to the max? January is the month of clubbing. Among other things. The more days off, the more parties, night in, night out. Belgrade is a city that just needs an excuse to show off its proliferous night life. In February, we will be returning to old habits, which also means to our usual night life dynamic.
DJ Vuk Smiljanić is one of the most popular DJs in town. He plays music almost every night in some of the most popular clubs of the capital. He knows the musical habits of younger generations really well, and he says, of his own work and musical style: “I have been following the clubbing scene in Belgrade since high school and I have been in music all my life. I started actively DJ-ing in 2010. It is my pleasure that I have played music, side to side, with the greatest foreign names of clubbing; I also consider my residency at The Tube as one of my greatest successes.”
His recipe for a good time in January goes as follows:
- A good party, first of all, is made by the people, the music and the sound. To prevent any disappointments in January, which is the month of winter break, avoid experiments and choose parties hosted by DJs whose work you already know and like.
- A fail-safe DJ tour in January, in my musical taste, includes the following places: Disco Bar Mladost, Club Gadost, Hype, Gajba, Brankov.
- House is the best sound for the upcoming days. Both for the party and for the after. I say this also because you can find good house in Belgrade almost everywhere, any time of night. For foreigners, this is an important piece of information.
- Recommendation for all those clubbers who’d like to try something new is Martinez Club & Bar, which will have a very interesting programme in January, as well as Gadost, with its now already famous weekend parties and resident DJs.
