Between the past successes and future plans, Partizan football player Saša Zdjelar always has a clear vision of the direction he wants to follow and how much he can rely in this on what he has already achieved
Saša Zdjelar has a successful season behind him. He spent a year in Partizan and contributed significantly to the success of this club. He came from the Greek Olympiacos, where he had previously played, and returning to the Serbian capital proved to be the good thing.
He describes the first year in Partizan in the following way: “It was a turbulent year filled with changes. The trophy we won gives me the greatest satisfaction, as well as the result I achieved on that occasion. The club later faced some challenges, primarily with a coach change, but we have stabilized in the end.”
He considers the winning of the Cup to be the most exciting event of the season because he played an important role in this.
Zdjelar achieved great success even before his twenties. He became the champion of the world with the national team of Serbia in New Zealand. He will remember that World Cup for the rest of his life: “All of us who participated in this victory will be followed by it to the end of our lives. It is Serbia’s greatest success in football since Serbia became an independent state. I hope that the coming generations will repeat such a triumph. it was the best football season in my life. I am very proud of this success. ”
He describes life in Greece with pleasure and beautiful memories: ” Olympiacos is the biggest Greek club, and I liked the life in this region. Greeks are like us. I enjoyed the most in two things – nice weather and quality coffee. I miss the beach and the view of the sea most, these are the little things that make life more beautiful.”
He considers Athens the most beautiful city in Europe, but does not want to compare it with Belgrade, a city where his friends and family, close people are. He believes that in 2019, he will help Partizan get to the old track. Where it was always its place – among the winners. About his career abroad, since this experience he already has, Zdjelar says the following: “It is certain that every one of us wants to continue playing abroad later. I think that I have really done enough in Partizan and that time has come to go step forward. I always wanted to play in the best leagues and to earn a place among the best players of Europe with my own efforts and dedication.”
