Music Week festival – March skiing and parties to remember!
Among skiing fans, March is the favourite month for catching the most beautiful March sun and that “last lift”. In addition to the guarantees of good skiing, MK Mountain Resort will also be the host of three major events in March – the Kopaonik Business Forum, Music Week Festival that will host some of the biggest music stars on the national and regional scene and Winterfest Ski & Wine Festival gathering the best wine-makers, chefs and owners of the most famous restaurants.
If there was a contemporary winter fairy tale, its storyline could almost certainly be suitably set in the MK Mountain Resort, the largest hotel complex in Kopaonik. Comfortably tucked in at an exclusive location, in the gorgeous setting of the national park, MK Mountain Resort offers the perfect mountain-side experience in its two accommodation facilities. These are Grand Hotel & Spa**** and Angella Hotel & Residence****, located in the heart of the tourist centre, a stone’s throw from the ski trails, with their offers geared towards the different needs of their guests and towards providing them with a high-quality, unforgettable vacation on the mountain slopes.
Grand Hotel & Spa boasts a perfect location, in close proximity to the ski trails and ski lifts, right in front of the “Sports Valley” with a gorgeous view of the wooded mountain sides of Kopaonik. Supreme comfort in 200 luxurious rooms and apartments is complemented by numerous amenities for rest and indulgence throughout the year. The famous Grand Hotel has been the pride of our hotel industry for almost three decades. The fans of top-notch spa experiences can enjoy the Grand Oasis Spa & Wellness centre spreading over 1,800 m2, a true paradise for the soul with its outdoor and indoor swimming pools, sauna world and exclusive spa treatments – an ideal spot for complete relaxation.
Hotel Angella is all about comfort, ambiance that breathes warmth and interiors reflecting the wealth of the nature surrounding it. The hotel has 130 family-sized rooms and apartments, with contemporary interior design. It is located at an ideal spot within the tourist centre, just a few steps from the ski-trail, with the ideal conditions for ski-in and ski-out. The hotel’s Spa&Wellness centre offers a jacuzzi, a steam bath, Finnish and infrared saunas, massage parlour and gym. The concept this hotel was based on is aimed at people to whom comfort and impeccable service are the most important pre-requirements when choosing a holiday destination. Surrounded by gorgeous wooded slopes, equipped to the highest standards, with a traditional mountain hotel vibe, this hotel is an ideal choice for families, friends and couples.
Favourite ski oasis
Skiing, as a privileged and most popular winter sport, is the main criterion when choosing a holiday destination this time of year. Snowboarding is increasing in popularity, too, as can be seen from the growing number of visitors from the region. A snowy mountain, sunny peaks and blue skies are an ideal – and an idyllic – landscape for all those who enjoy the beauty and challenge of a winter vacation. Supreme ski-trails of the ski centre Kopaonik, with 62 km of trails for Alpine and Nordic skiing, provide limitless joy to all categories of skiers. Ski centre also has an engineered snowboard park with a trail of 450 m in total. For those who love night skiing, there is the illuminated “Malo Jezero” trail.
Complete experience for the whole family
Since the youngest guests are always the dearest guests, MK Resort invested special efforts to make sure that its hotels become the children’s favourite place to stay in Kopaonik. Angella Hotel offers free accommodation to children under seven years of age throughout the winter season, while the youngest guests of the Grand Hotel can stay for free from 28 January to 4 February 2018. Free all-day entertainment for children, creative workshops, theatre performances, outdoor activities as well as evening parties will be available for all children staying at either of these hotels, throughout the winter season. In addition, the youngest skiers and those just starting in the sport can use the „skiing kindergarten“ with a conveyer belt that facilitates learning basic skiing skills.
Sensation for the body and soul
Imagine having the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor hot-tub, with water temperatures never dropping below 29 oC and a view of Pančićev Vrh at the end of an adrenaline-packed day filled with your favourite winter sports. It is an indescribable feeling, which is why guests of all interests and ages enjoy the outdoor pool. Visitors from Belgrade and other cities in Serbia find the contact with these natural wonders to be priceless.
Irresistible rhythm of a winter’s night
Night life is one of the reasons why young people place Kopaonik above all other winter destinations. A high-quality night out is the crown of an eventful day spent on the mountain side, whether you prefer the cosy winter indulgencies or adrenaline-packed dynamic sports. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy this unique vibe in cold winter nights. Warm up in the magnificent ambiance off the numerous pubs, bars or clubs and create your own unforgettable memories.
Ski Opening and Music Week
The season starts with the Ski Opening and the perfect combination of unforgettable skiing and partying. This event marks the beginning of the ski season each year, with all the capacities on the mountain packed to the fullest – or, to be more precise, more than 15,000 people come to enjoy it every year. Music Week is a music spectacle taking place at the Grand Hotel, implemented in cooperation with MK Mountain Resort and Sky Music. The event gathers the biggest stars in the region and guarantees top-notch concert production.
Gastronomic hedonism of the highest rank
While you are staying on Kopaonik, make sure you try the specialties of the Kopaonik region. The must-eats include šardene (a lamb specialty), smoked trout, gibanica ispod sača (traditional Serbian cheese and cream pie baked under a lid covered with hot coals, trans. note) and blueberry deserts. But also, make sure you stop by the Garden Restaurant at the Grand Hotel and enjoy the sophisticated flavours of its unique bistronomy menu, signed by the finest chefs in this region.
